I have made a payment with my debit card but can’t see it in pending transactions, why isn’t it appearing?

This could be an offline payment. Some retailers don’t process payments straight away so these will not appear in your pending transactions.

The payment will appear when the retailer processes it, usually within a couple of days. Examples of offline payments include payments made on flights, parking, toll road and market stalls.

I made a contactless payment with my debit card but can’t see it in pending transactions

This could be an offline payment, as some retailers don’t process contactless payments straight away and will not appear in your pending transactions.

The payment will appear when the retailer processes it, usually within a couple of days.

Examples of retailers that do this include Transport for London where the amount is calculated overnight and will show the next day. Pret a Manger also processes transactions offline.

I used my debit card to make a payment abroad and the pending amount was different to the amount that was processed

When using your debit card abroad the payment amount that processes into your account may be different to the amount you saw when the payment was pending.

This is because the exchange rate may have changed by the time the transaction was processed and any fees will also apply.
