How do I make an online payment?

Pay a bill or make a payment to an individual or business from your bank account as and when it suits you.

Setting up a payee
Before you can make a payment you need to set up a payee - the person or company the money will be paid to. You will need a card-reader and a card you can use with that reader to complete this process.

Select 'Payments and transfers' from the menu then in the 'Make a payment or transfer' section select 'Make a payment or transfer'.

Select the account you want to make the payment from. Select 'Pay someone new' and complete the new payee details followed by 'Add payee'. Continue to follow the on screen instructions.

Making a payment
Select 'Payments and transfers' from the menu then in the 'Make a payment or transfer' section select 'Make a payment or transfer'.

Select the account you want to make the payment from and the payee you want to pay from the drop down lists. Enter the amount and the date you want the money to leave your account. Select 'Next' and follow the on screen instructions.

Please note: If you set the payee up through Telephone Banking you will be asked to confirm the payee details with your card-reader before you can make payments to that payee online.
